Parkway South High School (also known as Parkway South, Parkway South Senior High, PSouth, or PSH) is a fully accredited high school, serving students in grades 9-12 in the Parkway School District, located in St. Louis County, Missouri, USA. Parkway South is the largest of the Parkway high schools. Its feeder schools are Parkway South Middle School and Parkway Southwest Middle School. The average annual enrollment is approximately 2,000 students.

Parkway South High School was established in 1976, the year of the 200th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. For this reason, the school mascot is the Patriot and the colors are blue, white, and red. It has also been called "The Bicentennial School". However, originally the school was supposed to be completed in 1974 and the mascot would have been the Rebels. The colors were going to be orange, blue, and black. The construction was delayed and the school opened in 1976, changing the colors and mascot to fit with the bicentennial theme.

Parkway South is a member of the Missouri High School Athletic Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A division and are known as the "Patriots". Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs. Notable alumni of the school include the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, Greg Raymer 2008 Olympian Sarah Haskins, and Adam Blind, guitar player from the Band "Okay Reckless"

Academics

Parkway South has a system of block scheduling where students have four 90-minute classes each day. Students alternate between a 'Red Day' and a 'Blue Day' schedule. Red Days are Blocks 1, 3, 5, and 7, while Blue Days are 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Academic Lab (4th Block) is a time when students can visit teachers for various academic help, such as making up tests, checking homework, getting help, etc. During some Academic Lab periods, compulsory administrative tasks must be completed by students instead of the usual routine. They have recently changed it to be broken up into three parts: ACT time, Module 1, and Module 2. ACT time allows students to roam freely from teacher to teacher for fifteen minutes. Modules 1 and 2 are times where the students have to pick one area to stay in for 20 minutes each to complete work. If the student runs out of work in that time, they are expected to find something else to do without leaving that classroom. After the first module, the students can choose to leave and find another class to stay in for the second module or they can remain in their first module classroom. South uses the honors grading system in select classes where students have the opportunity to earn an 'H' grade (which earns 5.0 Grade Points). Earning an 'A' in an honors class is a 4.5, B: 3.5, C: 2.5, D: 1.5, F: 0. For most classes, the traditional 4.0 grading system is used where A: 4.0, B: 3.0, C: 2.0, D: 1.0, F:0.

South's elective opportunities include: Fine Arts, Business, Foreign Language, Technology, and Family and Consumer Science.

South, along with the other schools in the Parkway School District, currently file online student academic information including but not limited to grades, schedules, and transportation through Infinite Campus.
